From Joe Taylor concerning his REVISED, Second Edition of Fossil Facts and Fantasies, Now Available: No amount of effort was spared in this second edition printing. If you haven't gotten a copy you should. If you were fortunate enough to get a first printing, keep it for a collectors item and get a copy of the revision.

The production of FOSSIL FACTS & FANTASIES was an enormous undertaking for a new publisher, especially since it was done in such a short length of time. When the publishing of this book was given back to Taylor from the original publisher, it became critical to produce it immediately, since several hundred orders for the book had already been received. The time factor coupled with having to learn and use a new computer program, made it difficult to catch mistakes, and despite several proofings, many typos, etc., were not saved to the final text in the program. Taylor said himself he knew that several misspelled words were corrected more than once, but for some reason their program did not save them. Most computer operators can relate the problems this presents. The task of laying out the design of the book caused inevitable shuffling and quick rewrites of the text. This caused some trouble and along with whole lines of text disappearing, the hasty rewriting of the text caused some confusion. While the text had already been approved and corrected by the original publisher, there was simply no time for a peer review of the final details of the text. This was unfortunate. Printing and binding caused a lot of trouble. For some reason, many of the photographs came out muddy and the bindings on the books just didn't have enough glue in them. Nevertheless, the book has received a tremendous response worldwide. And all of the original problems have been fixed. Following release of the first edition, Taylor has subjected the manuscript to thorough professional proofing, peer review and textual improvements.

Don Ensign came to work on the project in April 2000 with 18 years of computer layout in magazine publishing and being very familiar with our program has fixed numerous minor design problems. The book has a new ISBN number for library referencing. Don also brought to us a thorough knowledge of the Bible as well as years of study in archeology and paleontology. Since time constraints did not allow for the first printing to have a reference section or index, Don not only has included that, but has added many new backup references. While we were at it, several photographs were re-scanned and even new photos added. When Taylor picked up this new edition at the new printer, in Ft Worth, Texas, he insisted on testing the new binding. The covers stay on and the pages will not come out ! For a book of original fossil evidences, backed-up with hundreds of original photographs and graphics, there is still nothing like it in the secular or Creation press. Even evolutionists and atheists have complimented Taylor. They have said that the book is graphically beautiful, and that while they do not agree with all of his conclusions, they acknowledge that his views are not from an ignorance of fossils.
